The popular American actor Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, he will not play Iron Man, who died in Avengers: Endgame, but will get a completely new role.
The actor will play Doctor Doom, one of the opponents of the Fantastic Four. He will appear in two films in 2026 and 2027 – Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secrets of War.
Robert Downey Jr. has already appeared in the image of his character. He took the stage at the Comic-Con festival in the USA. This hero is considered the biggest villain in the cinematic universe. Having published several shots from the event on his Instagram, the actor wrote: “New mask, same task.”
By the way, not all fans were happy about the actor’s return to Marvel. Some wrote that the company was trying to revive the franchise, which was in decline. Fans also wrote that they were disappointed that after receiving an Oscar for his role in Oppenheimer, the actor was returning to the role of a villain.
