Actress Nichelle Nichols, who played Lieutenant Nyota Uhura in the original 1960s Star Trek series, has died of natural causes at the age of 90. The death was confirmed by her only son, Kyle Johnson, and revealed that the actress passed away on July 30, according to E! News.
Nichelle’s Star Trek colleague actor George Takei, who played Sulu, was speechless when he learned about the sad news. He dedicated a tweet to her:
