Famous actor, legend of American cinema, James Caan has died at the age of 82. He became famous for his role in The Godfather, where he played Santino Corleone.
James Caan died in Los Angeles, USA. His death was announced in an official statement on the actor’s Twitter page. The cause of death was not disclosed. The statement says that the actor passed away on July 6.
Recall that James Caan was born on March 26, 1940. As a student at Hofstra University, he began studying acting. And his classmate was Francis Ford Coppola.
Kaan began his acting career with a role in the film “Gentle Irma” in 1963. But fame brought him a role in the film “The Godfather”, which was directed by Frank Ford Coppola. He also starred in films such as “Rollerball”, “Palnik” and others.
The actor was nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy, and he also won the Saturn Award.
James Caan left five children, he was married four times. In particular, one of his wives was Elvis Presley’s ex-girlfriend Sheila Ryan.
