The Chinese company Alibaba has developed a new artificial intelligence model R1-Omni. According to the developers, it can recognize human emotions.
The artificial intelligence was developed by specialists from the Tongyi Lab. Its ability to recognize human emotions is part of Alibaba’s desire to create competition for the developments of leading companies in this field, in particular, ChatGPT from OpenAI.

R1-Omni is already available with open source code. During the demonstration, it was able to recognize human emotions in a video, as well as provide a description of what the person was wearing and what surrounded him.
The artificial intelligence model uses improved computer vision technology, which is based on the previous HumanOmni model, which was also created by the leading developer Jiaxing Zhao.
Recall that Chinese scientists taught a robot to ride a bicycle.
