Raw shrimp (not boiled-frozen) require a little more time to cook than already boiled. Frozen shrimp, which have already been pre-boiled before freezing, cook faster.
After the water boils, shrimp are cooked for the following time:
- raw unpeeled from 2 to 7 minutes depending on the size;
- frozen shrimp are cooked from 1 to 3 minutes, which also depends on the size.

These are the most popular types of seafood that are used for different types of dishes. They are cooked for a certain amount of time:
- king prawns (10-15 cm) – 5-7 minutes;
- tiger prawns (more than 15 cm) – 6-7 minutes.

Here it is important to understand whether they are raw or pre-cooked and frozen. But basically their cooking time is as follows:
- small shrimp (up to 5 cm) – 1-2 minutes;
- medium shrimp (5-7 cm) – 2-3 minutes;
- large shrimp (8-10 cm) – 3-5 minutes.
Tiger and king shrimp are cooked longer, as they are much larger.
