Caprese with mozzarella and tomatoes
Ingredients:
- 1 mozzarella ball
- 2 tomatoes
- Fresh basil leaves
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Step-by-step preparation:
- Slice the mozzarella and tomatoes into thin slices.
- On a large flat platter or tray, place alternate mozzarella and tomato slices in circles.
- Place fresh basil leaves between mozzarella and tomato slices.
- Drizzle everything with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Baked camembert with walnuts and honey
Ingredients:
- 1 piece of Camembert
- Walnuts
- Honey
Step-by-step preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Place the camembert ring on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Pierce the top of the camembert with a knife several times.
- Place the cheese in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes until softened.
- Meanwhile, prepare the walnuts.
- Remove the camembert from the oven and cover it with the walnuts.
- Drizzle the camembert with honey.
- Serve with slices of fresh bread or baguette.
Breaded cheese balls
Ingredients:
- 250 g cream cheese
- 100g hard cheese (such as cheddar or parmesan), grated
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Step-by-step preparation:
- In a large bowl, whisk together cream cheese, shredded cheese, basil, salt and pepper until smooth.
- Form small balls from the resulting mixture.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg.
- Dip each ball in the egg, then in the breading.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan.
- Fry the cheese balls until golden brown, turning them from time to time.
- Place the finished balls on a paper towel to remove excess fat.
- Serve hot with your favorite sauce.
