  • Cream cheese – 150 g;
  • Butter (soft) – 50 g;
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.;
  • Salt and pepper – to taste;
  • Greens (dill or parsley) – optional;
  • Baguette or crackers – for serving.

Step-by-step preparation:

  • If you are using fresh red fish, boil it. Boil water, add some salt and bay leaf. Put the fillet in boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes until done. Cool the fish and remove bones, if any.
  • If you are using lightly salted fish, simply cut it into small pieces.
  • Put the fish in a blender bowl. Add cream cheese, soft butter and lemon juice. Salt and pepper to taste. Beat until smooth.
  • Finely chop the herbs (dill or parsley). Gently stir into the pate with a spoon.
  • Put the pate in a container or a nice bowl. Put it in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes to let the snack sit.

Serve with a baguette or crackers. You can also just eat the pate as a separate dish.
