How women wash their hair in space: the experience of astronaut Karen Nyberg

Astronaut Karen Nyberg showed how women have to wash their hair in zero gravity.

Karen Nyberg is one of six astronauts currently living on the International Space Station. She has long hair and it is not easy to clean it. There is no soul on the ISS, water without gravity would not fall down, but would spread throughout the room.

Nyberg has to take special tools: a bag of warm water, shampoo without rinse aid, a special comb and a towel. The astronaut needs to constantly keep his hair in a comfortable position, combing it up. Water and shampoo are applied pointwise, a comb helps to distribute them along the entire length.
