Swans represent elegance and sophistication. But at the same time, they have a reputation for being arrogant and dangerous to humans. In fact, birds are aggressive at the time of incubation of eggs or when protecting hatched chicks. And so they are one of the friendliest birds, and the human voice can have a calming effect on them.
There are legends about swan fidelity and they compose songs. But if one of the partners died, it is not necessary that the second one will remain alone forever. The survivor will mourn for a while, but then he may find himself a new pool, a new place where a new partner will join him. And they make a great couple.
When these amazing long-necked birds mate, they think it’s forever. However, about 3% of pairs “divorce”, usually due to nesting failure.
Why is there such devotion? Due to long and long flights, they do not have time to build relationships anew every year, as they do not have time to make a nest and hatch chicks. Therefore, they fly away and return with their soul mate.
Swans couples adhere to egalitarianism, that is, equality in relationships and opportunities. If something happens to the female, the male will calmly hatch the chicks. If necessary, they can even take turns incubating eggs.
