Ingredients:

  • Flounder fillet (2-3 pcs)
  • 1 glass of white wine (preferably dry)
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons flour (for coloring the sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped herbs (parsley or basil, for garnish)

Step-by-step preparation:

  • Heat the oil in a small saucepan. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Add chopped garlic and fry for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Once the onions and garlic are browned, add white wine. Allow the sauce to simmer, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce has reduced by 1/3 or to your desired consistency.
  • While the sauce is cooking, prepare the flounder fillet. You can fry it in a frying pan until golden brown on both sides, or bake it in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillet.
  • When the sauce and fillets are ready, place the flounder on plates, pouring the sauce over the top. If desired, you can tint the sauce by adding a little flour dissolved in water and whisking the mixture until thickened.

Garnish the dish with finely chopped herbs before serving.
