Garlic croutons
Garlic croutons are a delicious appetizer that goes well with a variety of dishes. You will need:
- Loaf or French baguette
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
- Optionally, fresh parsley and salt
Step-by-step preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Cut the baguette or loaf into thin circles or strips.
- Break the garlic and fry it in olive oil in a frying pan until golden brown.
- Brush the croutons with the resulting garlic butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley and salt if desired.
- Bake the croutons in the oven until golden brown (about 10-15 minutes).
Garlic shrimp in a frying pan
This dish is perfect for seafood and garlic lovers. You will need:
- 300 g shrimp (preferably peeled)
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, black pepper and fresh herbs to taste
Step-by-step preparation:
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan.
- Add chopped garlic and sauté for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, salt and pepper, and fry until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes on each side).
- Serve shrimp sprinkled with fresh herbs.
Garlic oil
This is a simple recipe that can be used for dressing salads, making sandwiches, marinades and many other dishes. You will need:
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Step-by-step preparation:
- Mash the garlic and mix it with olive oil.
- Gradually add oil, stirring constantly to form a smooth mixture.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Garlic oil can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
Baked garlic with cheese
This is a wonderful dish that goes well with bread, potato dishes and meat.
Ingredients:
- 1 head of garlic
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated hard cheese (such as Parmesan or cheddar)
- Fresh green herbs (optional)
Step-by-step preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Take a head of garlic and cut off the tops to expose the garlic cloves. Leave the peels in place to form a “lid” for the head of garlic.
- Place the head of garlic on a piece of foil.
- Drizzle olive oil over the garlic and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Wrap the head of garlic in foil. Place it in the preheated oven and roast for 30-40 minutes, until the garlic is soft and fragrant.
- After baking, remove the head of garlic and carefully open the bag. Sprinkle it with grated cheese.
- Turn on the oven broiler and slide the garlic clove and cheese under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese begins to melt and brown.
