Apples are one of the best fruits that contain an incredible amount of vitamins. They can and should be consumed daily, but not necessarily raw. We at joy-pup have collected simple apple recipes for every day.
Apple pie
This delicious dish will diversify your menu and will be a great dessert option.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg apples
- 200 g sugar
- 200 g flour
- 150 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of cinnamon
How to cook:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Cut apples into small pieces.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Add butter and eggs, then mix thoroughly.
- Place half of the apples in the bottom of a baking dish, then add half of the batter. Repeat layers, ending with dough.
- Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes until the cake is browned.
Apple salad with cilantro and walnuts
This dish is incredibly fresh. It can be combined with almost any side dish, as well as with meat.
Ingredients:
- 2 apples
- 1 small fresh cucumber
- 1 small fresh shallot
- 50 g walnuts
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp apple cider or wine vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
Step by step preparation:
- Cut apples, cucumbers and onions into thin slices.
- Chop the walnuts.
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
- Season with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
- Stir until all ingredients are well coated in the sauce.
Apple curry
This sauce can be consumed on its own, and it is also combined with various meat and fish dishes.
Ingredients:
- 2 apples cut into cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp curry paste
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp salt
- fresh basil for garnish
Cooking:
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until soft.
- Add curry paste and fry for another minute.
- Add apples, coconut milk, broth, walnuts, lemon juice and salt.
- Stir until the sauce boils.
- Reduce the heat and cook over low heat until the apples are softened. Next, grind the mass or leave the apples in cubes.
Apple stew

Ingredients:
- 4 large apples (cut into pieces)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 glass of water
- 2 tablespoons starch
Step by step preparation:
- Cut the apples into pieces.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped apples to skillet and stir to coat with oil.
- Add brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt and pepper to skillet and stir to combine.
- Add water to the pan and stir.
- Bring the contents of the pan to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid.
- Let the apples simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until soft, stirring occasionally.
- Mix starch with 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl.
- Once the apples are soft, add the cornstarch mixture to the skillet and stir to evenly distribute.
- Raise the heat to medium and stir the contents of the pan for 1-2 minutes until the stew thickens.
- Remove skillet from heat and serve apple stew hot or cold.
