Ingredients:

  • 1 kg apples
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 g flour
  • 150 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of cinnamon

How to cook:

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Cut apples into small pieces.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • Add butter and eggs, then mix thoroughly.
  • Place half of the apples in the bottom of a baking dish, then add half of the batter. Repeat layers, ending with dough.
  • Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes until the cake is browned.

  • 1 small fresh shallot
  • 50 g walnuts
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider or wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste

Step by step preparation:

  • Cut apples, cucumbers and onions into thin slices.
  • Chop the walnuts.
  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Season with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
  • Stir until all ingredients are well coated in the sauce.

  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 glass of water
  • 2 tablespoons starch

Step by step preparation:

  • Cut the apples into pieces.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chopped apples to skillet and stir to coat with oil.
  • Add brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt and pepper to skillet and stir to combine.
  • Add water to the pan and stir.
  • Bring the contents of the pan to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid.
  • Let the apples simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until soft, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix starch with 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl.

  • Raise the heat to medium and stir the contents of the pan for 1-2 minutes until the stew thickens.
