Materials you will need:
- a piece of any fabric;
- scissors;
- pins;
- needle;
- fabric color threads;
- elastic underwear elastic (it is better to choose a thin one so that it can be easily threaded through the fabric).
Step by step process
1. Measure and cut a strip of fabric to the desired length and width. The size depends on what kind of elastic you want to get. It is usually recommended to choose a strip approximately 40-45 centimeters long and 5-8 centimeters wide.
2. Fold the strip of fabric in half lengthwise, right sides facing in. Then sew along the long edges of the fabric, leaving the short edges open. This will create a tissue tube.
3. After sewing the fabric, turn it right side out.
4. Cut the elastic band to suit your size. Pull it through the fabric tube and tie them into a knot. Then carefully spread the fabric around the elastic to cover it completely.
5. Insert one end into the other and sew the two pieces of fabric together. Make sure the fastening is strong so that the elastic will last a long time. When the base is ready, you can add decorative elements. This could be a bow, beads, sequins or other decorations.
