  • Fresh squid – 500 g
  • Garlic – 3-4 cloves
  • Tomatoes – 2 pieces
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Dry white wine – 1/4 cup
  • Lemon – 1 piece
  • Fresh basil or parsley – to taste
  • Salt and pepper – to taste

Step-by-step preparation of squid in Italian:

  • First, clean the squid, cut off the head, and cut the body into rings about 1 cm thick. Rinse the squid rings under cold water and dry them with a paper towel.
  • Finely chop the garlic and tomatoes. Squeeze the juice from the lemon. Finely chop basil or parsley for garnish.
  • Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and fry it until golden brown. Then add the squid rings and fry them for about 3-4 minutes until soft.
  • Once the squid is tender, add the chopped tomatoes and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes. Then add white wine and lemon juice. Salt and pepper to taste. The squid is ready when the wine has evaporated.

Serve hot, sprinkled with finely chopped basil or parsley. It goes perfectly with a side dish of rice.
