Lavash with cheese and herbs
This recipe is perfect as an appetizer or snack. You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 sheets of pita bread
- 200 g hard cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley, dill, basil)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Step-by-step preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Melt the butter and add garlic powder. Wait a few minutes for the garlic aroma to spread.
- Cut the pita bread into squares or triangles and brush each piece with butter and garlic powder.
- Sprinkle pieces of pita bread with shredded cheese and herbs. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Fold the pita bread pieces in half and place on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and the pita bread is crispy.
Lavash with chicken and vegetables
This dish is great as a main dish. You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 sheets of pita bread
- 2 chicken breasts, cut into small pieces
- 1 red pepper, cut into half rings
- 1 onion, chopped into half rings
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Step-by-step preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken breast, red pepper, onion, olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are coated with oil and spices.
- Place chicken and vegetable mixture on half of each pita sheet. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
- Roll the pita like a burrito, tucking the edges so the filling doesn’t fall out.
- Place the pita breads on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
Lavash with fruit and yogurt
Lavash can also be used to prepare a sweet dish. You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 sheets of pita bread
- 1 large apple, thinly sliced
- 1 banana, cut into rings
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla yogurt
Step-by-step preparation:
- Place the pita breads on a work surface.
- Drizzle each pita with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Spread the apple slices, banana rings and chopped walnuts evenly over the entire surface of the pita bread.
- Roll the pita bread, starting at one end, to create a log. If necessary, wrap it in film to keep its shape.
- Cut the roll into portions and serve the pita bread with fruit and yogurt.
