Picture of coffee beans

Paintings or panels are a great way to use coffee beans and they add a unique decor element to your home.

Materials:

  • Coffee beans
  • Thick cardboard base or canvas
  • PVA glue
  • Brush
  • Acrylic paints for creating the outline of the image

Step by step process:

  1. Draw the outline of the image on cardboard or canvas using ink or acrylics. It can be anything from a simple heart to a more complex image such as a flower.
  2. When the outline is dry, start applying glue to small areas of your image.
  3. Once you’ve applied the glue, stick on the coffee beans until the glue dries. Try to stick to the outline of the image.
  4. Repeat the process until you have completed the entire painting. After finishing work, let the painting dry completely.

Topiary from coffee beans

Working with coffee beans can be very relaxing and meditative, not to mention the wonderful aroma they exude.

Materials:

  • Coffee beans
  • Styrofoam ball or floral sponge
  • PVA glue
  • Gypsum
  • Brush
  • Wooden skewer or stick for the base
  • A pot or a beautiful glass for the base

Step by step process:

  1. Start by applying glue to a small area of the foam ball.
  2. Glue coffee beans to this area.
  3. Repeat the process until the entire ball is covered with coffee beans. Leave it to dry.
  4. Insert the stick into the base of the ball. This will be the trunk of your topiary.
  5. In a pot, dilute the gypsum with water to the state of gruel.
  6. Then insert the other end of the stick into the pot, which will serve as the base for your topiary. When the plaster hardens, pour coffee beans on top of it.
  7. Now you have a beautiful coffee bean topiary. This DIY craft may take some time, but the result is worth it.

Decorative candle with coffee beans

A beautiful decorative candle adorned with coffee beans is a wonderful addition to any table or shelf that creates a cozy and warm light.

Materials:

  • Coffee beans
  • Paraffin (or leftover candles)
  • Wick
  • Large glass beaker
  • A smaller glass sized to fit inside a larger glass with some space on the sides
  • PVA glue (optional)

Step by step process:

  1. Insert the smaller glass or tea light into the center of the larger glass.
  2. Start pouring coffee beans into the space between the sides of the two glasses. Continue adding beans until they reach the top of the larger glass.
  3. If you want the grains to be more stable, you can coat them lightly with PVA glue. This is an optional step, but it can help the beans stay in place.
  4. Let the coffee beans dry if you used glue.
  5. Then you need to take out a smaller glass, lower the wick there, fix the end of it on a pencil, and fill the resulting void with paraffin melted in a water bath. After cooling, remove the product and, if desired, blow it with a hair dryer to obtain a smooth texture.

Coffee body scrub

Coffee body scrub will not only make your skin smooth and radiant, but the smell of coffee can be very invigorating, especially in the morning. It’s important to remember that some people may be allergic to coffee or other ingredients, so it’s always worth testing on a small patch of skin before using a new product.

Materials:

  • Coffee (freshly ground is best)
  • Coconut or olive oil
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Glass jar with lid

Step by step process:

  1. Mix equal parts ground coffee and sugar in a large bowl. The sugar will help enhance the exfoliating effect and blend with the texture of the coffee beans.
  2. Add coconut or olive oil. The amount of oil can vary depending on preference, but in general, the scrub should be moist enough for the mixture to come together, but not too oily.
  3. Mix everything together until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
  4. Transfer the scrub to a glass jar and close the lid.
