Samsa is one of the most delicious dishes of Eastern cuisine. It can have a variety of fillings, but most often it is made from meat. The dish is ideal for both a snack and a full lunch. We at joy-pup offer three original samsa recipes that you can make at home.
Samsa with lamb
Ingredients:
- Flour – 500 g
- Water – 200 ml
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Lamb – 400 g
- Onions – 2 pcs.
- Fat tail fat – 100 g
- Spices (cumin, black pepper, paprika) – to taste
- Egg yolk – for greasing
Step-by-step preparation:
- Put flour and salt in a bowl. Pour in water and knead the dough until smooth. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave for 30 minutes.
- Cut the lamb and fat tail into small cubes, finely chop the onion. Combine the meat with the onion, add spices and mix.
- Roll out the dough into a thin layer, lay it out in several layers and roll out again. Form squares from the dough, put the filling in the center of each of them and form triangular pies.
- Place the samsa on a baking sheet, brush with egg yolk and bake in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
Samsa with chicken and potatoes
Ingredients:
- Flour – 500 g
- Margarine – 200 g
- Water – 150 ml
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Chicken fillet – 300 g
- Potatoes – 2 pcs.
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Spices (curry, turmeric, black pepper) – to taste
- Egg yolk – for greasing
Step-by-step preparation:
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl, add margarine and rub all the dough into crumbs. Pour in cold water and knead the dough. Leave it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- Cut the chicken fillet into small cubes, grate the potatoes or cut into small slices, finely chop the onion. Combine all the ingredients with spices.
- Roll out the dough into a thin layer, cut into squares. Put a little filling in the center of each square. Form the samsa into a triangle shape.
- Place the samsa on a baking sheet, brush with egg yolk. Bake at 190°C for about 35-40 minutes.
Vegetarian samsa with pumpkin
Ingredients:
- Flour – 500 g
- Vegetable oil – 100 ml.
- Water – 150 ml
- Salt – 1 tsp.
- Pumpkin – 300 g
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Greens (cilantro, parsley) – to taste
- Spices (coriander, black pepper, cumin) – to taste
- Egg yolk – for greasing
Step-by-step preparation:
- Combine flour, salt, vegetable oil and water in a bowl. Knead the dough and leave it for 30 minutes.
- Grate the pumpkin on a coarse grater. Finely chop the onion and fry until golden brown. Mix these ingredients together with herbs and spices.
- Roll out the dough thinly and cut into squares. Place the filling in the center of each square and pinch the edge to form a triangle.
- Place the samsa on a baking sheet, brush with egg yolk. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 25-30 minutes.
